Simple Tips for Cod5 Nazi Zombies

This isn’t meant to be a strategy guide for zombie mode, infact it isn’t anything other than a list of simple tips that should help you get that bit further on any map on Cod5’s Nazi Zombie Mode.

zombie mode

1. Maximize your points in the 1st few rounds. You get 130 points per knife kill. So try & get as many knife kills as you can in the early easy rounds. So you’ll have enough to get a good gun as early as possible.

2. Communicate with your team mates. Decide in advance roughly what strategy yous want to use.  Lets you concentrate on the more important things like staying alive longer & killing more zombies.

3. Play with your friends

Your friends are less likely to “play against you” unlike alot of people online. Its also easier to talk to them. All in all your more likely to get further when playing with your friends than with random people online.

4. Stay away from the light.. I mean the random box

Although the random box is cheaper & can offer better guns. Sometimes is better to buy a gun off the wall (ie a Thompson on  the 1st map) The less you have to rely on luck the better.

5. About Spreading out

Staying beside you team mates is handy for allot of reasons. But remember that also will mean that ALL the zombies will be heading for yous. If yous spread out the zombies will have to split up.

6. Time your shooting

If yous are camping beside your team mates try and time your shooting so yous aren’t all reloading at the same time. and theres no point firing away with a trench gun when the zombie is at the other side of the room. Some guns can only reach so far.

7. Crawlers

Throwing grenades can remove the zombies legs, so that they have to crawl about using their arms. If you can kill all the zombies apart from a crawler. This gives you time to “board up” all the windows, and buy better guns.  As well as giving you a break so you can relax and get ready for another level of zombie killing!

More in depth guides possibly on the way.

Time Wasters for School

I’m sorry to say but school is on the horizon again. With the aim of making your computer classes as bearable as possible   I’m going to show some of the best time wasters on the Internet.

The Worlds Hardest Game

Although it could be classed as the “worlds most annoying game” It is a great way to waste away a few hours without noticing.

worlds hardest game

Crazy Cube

Another game that helps you really pass the time. The higher levels can require team work though. So be sure to keep you voice down.

9 Ball Quick Fire Pool

An ordinary flash game of pool.  Nothing more, but it doesn’t need t be.

I know theres games out there just as good as these, and maybe some I haven’t heard of that are better.

If you know of any flash games you love to  play, post them here!

Linux For Gamers

I recently moved over fully to linux. Completly deleting any sign of windows on my pc. I’ll write more about linux related stuff at another date.

Although I haven’t used my pc to play games much since getting my ps3. When I saw Supreme SupeGamer I was impressed, interested and excited. A linux distro dedicated to gaming? Wow this is worth checking out I thought..  Looking through the list of included games I recognised alot of them.  Im not saying by any means this is the 1st time any pc games have been played on a linuc machine, what I am saying is that this is *to my knowledge* the 1st linux distro that comes with some many games of such high caliber

World’s First Dual Layer LiveDVD

SuperGamer is a games oriented Linux desktop operating system. It has all the normal Linux desktop applications such as the Firefox Browser, OpenOffice.org, etc., but also has a great many native to Linux games added, as well as some demos of proprietary games.

This Supreme SuperGamer version will work on both 32 and 64 bit PCs and fills a full Live Dual Layer DVD. It includes support for ethernet, wireless, and dialup Internet connections. It can run in “Live” mode directly from the DVD and can be optionally installed to your hard drive. A few key includes are 2.6.27.24 kernel, Azureus, Gparted, Limewire, Gimp, K9copy, KOffice, OpenOffice 3, Hardinfo (system profiler and benchmark) along with all the plugins for firefox with forcastbar enhanced, adblock, and blockxxx included (blockxxx is a child word and website filter which is not enabled by default as it blocks alot of stuff…almost to much).

The games (in the order they appear on the launch bar) Include:

Quake Wars
Doom 3
Prey
Unreal Tournament
Quake 4
Savage 2
Postal 2
Enemy Territory
Penumbra Black Plague
Sauerbraten
Urban Terror
Soldier Of Fortune
Torcs
Tremulous
AlienArena
True Combat
America’s Army
Nexus
OpenArena
PlaneShift
Drop Team
Frets On Fire
Chromium B.S.U.
Mad Bomber
X-Moto
BZ Flag
Mega Mario
Glaxium
GL-117
NeverBall
NeverPutt
Super Tux
PPRacer

Im impressed enough to start downloading the 7gb torrent file. I’ll lets yous all know whether it was worth the extimated 5 hours or not after I give it a good bashing.  Hell if its good enough yous might find a download mirror poping up for it on the site!

Generic Title that is Exciting

Hi everyone

Thought I’d let you know a bit of whats going on in this head of mine…  the bit to do with Gaming Spree.

I’m not sure what I was thinking, but anyway Gaming Spree kinda became a Social Network.. or at least was trying to be. Yeh I’ll go with trying to be. Which looking back now, was wrong. Gaming Spree was never about being a Social Network..  I cant piece together words to describe what is was, maybe some of yous could posts what yous thought it was.

Some of my attempts

“a place where we waited on Darren to hurry up and make a proper, error free site”

“a place where we just had a bit of fun, and talked about games, and did whatever….. while we *refer above* ”

Anyway back on track, a few days ago when I realised this I decided I’d get rid of alot of the sites features. Although I wasnt sure what to get rid of. For awhile I was even edging the forum closer to the edge of the god forsaken cliff.  Till I was brought back to my senses..

Im still not 100% sure what should stay and what should go, what should be changed, what should be edited. Although I have a better idea now. I thought I’d leave making any changes to the site for awhile till I see what “works” and was doesnt. Instead of guessing.

*And any feedback from yous would be greatly appreciated*

So yous wont see any major changes to the site for a few weeks, although I’ll still be working away on its design etc, on the test site.

Im trying to be as vage as possible with these details as they all arent finalised but

yous can expect:

A new better design

Easier Navigation

More help with running of your own blog site

A more indepth forum

Your blogs site better set up, so if yous are too picky it will only be a matter of signup and start writing.

And other “geeky stuff”

possibly the option to buy your own domain name for your blog site.

I’ll finish this up with *ahhhhhh there*

Guitar Hero

Ive seen allot of talk, threads & discussions about this game.  And Ive heard  news of the countless others, like the more recent news of DJ Hero.

Ive seen the guitars. They’re nice looking, are the same shape as a guitar, recognisable as a guitar, and I’m guessing make “guitar noises” when you press their buttons. Ive played it in for awhile in some shop demos. But for the life of me I don’t get it.. At all.

Why play a game, with a controller costing the price of a cheap guitar. When you can have the real deal? Especially when the real deal can be magic.

Show me someone who doesn’t believe in magic, and I’ll show you someone who hasn’t seen a great musician play. Surely a game cant bring this magic to the TV screen?  Surely it cant replace that feeling you get when playing an instrument?

At the moment I feel like telling all those people who play the game to “drop it straight away, pick up an instrument and play. Cant play an instrument? Learn one”

But I cant, I haven’t properly played the game… I need an answer here. Whats the deal with these games?

Sorting out your wireless PS3 Connection Problems

Ok so heres what I did to my PS3 when I was having Internet connection errors when online. When I was playing with friends, they’d never receive my invites, nor I receive theirs. My headset would cut out, and I’d hear no one, and no one could hear me. I would cut out of games I was playing… You get the idea, it was annoying.
My 2 PS3’s are connected wirelessly to the internet.  So I started off trying to get my signal as strong as possible. If you can move your router  closer to your PS3 it would be great, I couldn’t.  But I removed some things lying on top of it and things stacked up beside my PS3.  This increased the connection signal by about 20%.
MY PS3 was nat type3, which can give you all kinds of grief.  We’ll aim for nat type1 with this guide now.
What to do

Go to Network Setting,

Then internet Conneciton Settings,

You’ll then be asked to choose a setting method, go with Custom

Next you have to choose whether you want a wireless conneciotn or a wired.

Note: This guide is wrote for people with wireless connectionsAs I dont have a PS3 with a wired connection

Next you have to set the WLAN settings, choose which everone you feel comfortable with, although if you know your SSid, “Enter Manually” would be your best bet.

Once you have that done you’ll need to enter you Security Settings,  Choice which ever applys to you.  Guide to get your WEP

After you have that set up, you have to choose your IP Address Settings

Choose  PPPoE then enter you User NAme And Password. OYu may need to contact you ISP for this. If your with Eircom in Ireland enter “broadband1″ for both

Next set you DNS settings to Automatic

And set the MTU to Manual, and enter 1500 as the value

Set the proxy server to “Do Not Use”

and UPnP to “Enable” *You may need to enable this on your & firewall on your PC, if it doesnt work*

Almost done now! Just test your connection and you should get nat type1.

Now get online and play lag free!

Gaming Spree: The Offical Biography

Ok I cant remember everything 100% but I’ll give it ago… :D

Gaming Spree started off as a pre installed PHPbb forum on bitzhats, or a site with a name along those lines. Basically it was Smokey, Cono, Omega and I. Yes were were the only ones ever to go on..

Then I moved us over to an E107 sites, but the hosting was terrible, plus my skills *or lack of them* had left the site full of errors, but we made do, and times were great… till interest dies down to us few regulars again, till even we too never bother going on much. Meanwhile I was busy setting up a “New place” for Gaming Spree. again built on the E107 CMS *content management system for you normal people :P )  It was better, members came on alot, for awhile. Then again they died off. Must be some sort of  disease. Smokey & Cono as great as ever came on the odd time to see what was happening. :P

I hope Ive learned enough from my past mistakes (and that your still reading :P ) to keep Gaming Spree alive and well. The site it self is alot better than past ones, although I’ll not go as far as saying its good.  I thought too much time had gone by with Gaming Spree being dead, so Im launching it now as it is. Its bug free, nearly. There’s a few things that aren’t working, the invite system being the biggest. But I’ll promise you I’ll work on them. Without sacrificing the community side of things :D

As I don’t have any help set up yet as to how to work this great big system: Wordpress.  Im more than happy to help yous out if yous get stuck.  I’ll try and make things easier to navigate, and better looking too :P But mess about with it, see what yous come up with!s no limit as to how many blogs you can have, but please don’t take advantage of this, and ruin it for everyone.
