Sorting out your wireless PS3 Connection Problems

Ok so heres what I did to my PS3 when I was having Internet connection errors when online. When I was playing with friends, they’d never receive my invites, nor I receive theirs. My headset would cut out, and I’d hear no one, and no one could hear me. I would cut out of games I was playing… You get the idea, it was annoying.
My 2 PS3’s are connected wirelessly to the internet.  So I started off trying to get my signal as strong as possible. If you can move your router  closer to your PS3 it would be great, I couldn’t.  But I removed some things lying on top of it and things stacked up beside my PS3.  This increased the connection signal by about 20%.
MY PS3 was nat type3, which can give you all kinds of grief.  We’ll aim for nat type1 with this guide now.
What to do

Go to Network Setting,

Then internet Conneciton Settings,

You’ll then be asked to choose a setting method, go with Custom

Next you have to choose whether you want a wireless conneciotn or a wired.

Note: This guide is wrote for people with wireless connectionsAs I dont have a PS3 with a wired connection

Next you have to set the WLAN settings, choose which everone you feel comfortable with, although if you know your SSid, “Enter Manually” would be your best bet.

Once you have that done you’ll need to enter you Security Settings,  Choice which ever applys to you.  Guide to get your WEP

After you have that set up, you have to choose your IP Address Settings

Choose  PPPoE then enter you User NAme And Password. OYu may need to contact you ISP for this. If your with Eircom in Ireland enter “broadband1″ for both

Next set you DNS settings to Automatic

And set the MTU to Manual, and enter 1500 as the value

Set the proxy server to “Do Not Use”

and UPnP to “Enable” *You may need to enable this on your & firewall on your PC, if it doesnt work*

Almost done now! Just test your connection and you should get nat type1.

Now get online and play lag free!
